Is anyone currently receiving reimbursement from a LTC (Long Term Insurance) policy? I am interested in knowing if you do the reimbursement request or does the agency that you use does? Do they charge you a fee to bill the LTC company ? My agency bills the LTC but they want to charge a fee to continue/normal?

Again I think it is different with each policy. My sister paid the agency and the ltc reimbursed her. I don’t know if she had an option to do it your way or not

My agency will directly send the invoice to LTC, but the agency billing system does a poor job of providing proof of payment. So I submit the invoice and proof of payment and usually get reimbursed in a week. Actually, the invoice shows that it's been paid in full, but I circle the payment information and circle it was paid by ACH. Without those annotations they won't pay. Doing it "their" way there haven't been any issues

ok sorry what does ACH stand for?

ACH, is Automated Clearing House. a network that allows electronic payments between financial institutions. ACH is a quick, paperless way to move money.
John Hancock, my LTC, won't reimburse for a claim unless they have definitive proof that the bill has already been paid and you can prove it. So, no cash is allowed, but credit cards can be used, OR, you can set up payment between your home health company and your bank so that the home company can automatically debit (ACH) the amount they're owed each week. It sounds risky, but it's used for many things, including the way I pay utilities and mortgage. Then, by the time I get the invoice from the company it says that the balance is zero and it was paid by ACH, and John Hancock pays with no delays. By the way, with my home health care company if you pay by credit card they charge you 3%, which is a lot of money on a live in aide. There is no charge for ACH

Oh thank you for explaining the process to me.

I pay the agency providing the help (or the individual that I find myself). Then send the paid invoice to LTC and they deposit the funds in my bank account. It's tedious but it works out. I use Genworth.

Without getting personal, what Genworth do for you? I'm guessing they are the middle man between agency and LTC Insurance? This is all new to me lol!

We are using ours for my wife. HHC send an invoice which we pay and then we are reimbursed upon sending the receipt to the insurer. There should be no fee from home healthcare agency related to sending invoice for their charges.

Oh ok I understand, thank you.
