ACH, is Automated Clearing House. a network that allows electronic payments between financial institutions. ACH is a quick, paperless way to move money.
John Hancock, my LTC, won't reimburse for a claim unless they have definitive proof that the bill has already been paid and you can prove it. So, no cash is allowed, but credit cards can be used, OR, you can set up payment between your home health company and your bank so that the home company can automatically debit (ACH) the amount they're owed each week. It sounds risky, but it's used for many things, including the way I pay utilities and mortgage. Then, by the time I get the invoice from the company it says that the balance is zero and it was paid by ACH, and John Hancock pays with no delays. By the way, with my home health care company if you pay by credit card they charge you 3%, which is a lot of money on a live in aide. There is no charge for ACH
