Appreciate the vast amount of feedback you give to all these folks on here regarding their symptoms, self diagnosis, etc. It’s remarkable the patients you have with many of the posters. I stumbled upon this website a few months back because I had some very light twitching and some knee issues (Dr. Google) brought me here. Over the last 4 or 5 months I have combed thru and read hundreds of the posts on this forum and perplexed with the amount of posts regarding twitching. I have light twitching from time to time…. I chalk it up under to much coffee in the morning, not enough water, and anxiety. I had a rough summer with my grandmother dying (she was my best friend). But here’s my question and it’s very simple and maybe might help a lot these posters seeking answers regarding twitching. Has there ever been someone who came here regarding twitching and that was basically their only symptom whether mild or severe go on to develop ALS? Again, this question is for the moderators. I think it would help the countless twitchers out there relax some of their fears. Just curious, really enjoy reading a lot of the topics on this forum.

Off hand I can think of four people who claimed twitching and no other symptoms. 3 were diagnosed but had their diagnoses rescinded ( correctly) which is why it is important to read all their posts. I will note two returned and told us. One did not. The fourth said he had only twitching but later admitted that he was also unable to turn the key to unlock the door and his initial exam confirmed clinical weakness so it was not twitching only. It was twitching with clinical weakness.

I am sorry about your grandmother

Wow, so 3 were diagnosed, but then retracted to not ALS. And the 4th had twitching but also couldn’t turn a key? Did I read all of that correctly? And thanks for the condolences. Much appreciated

Yes. Please realize I have been here since 2012 ( when my sister was diagnosed). Thousands of twitchers have passed through. I may not remember each but the unusual cases tend to stick with me. None of these are recent

If I may add this… so often not considered to question of the many
Twitchers the forum replies to. If for Mods only.... Mods delete it

As I have written before, we have no idea of their personal habits.

Do they drink energy drinks,
Do they vape,
Do they smoke pot,
Do they drink too much coffee,
Stress from sports activity?
Gambling… anxiety over losses?
Too much sugar intake from sodas, many also have caffeine.
Do they have a conflict with friend, something at work,
someone on social media.
Too much time on the Internet in general seeing things that
subconsciously bother them.
