Hello, I wanted to post on my previous post but its closed. I have some back issues and mild foot drop which resolved for past year. The problem which stayed is one of my muscles cramping easly and started to twitching. I had another emg today and results are attached. Which freaked me out is this fib and fasc. My doctor put the needle on one place and showed it. Then put it in different spot on same muscle and showed nothing. Then again on 3th spot on the same muscle and nothing. These fibs didnt have sound. He said probably he hit motor spot. Is it possible? Is this something worrisome.

Not worrisome at all. ALS would show more abnormalities there, affect the whole muscle AND muscles around it. Remember ALS is not a prrimary muscle disease. It is a disease of the motor neurons that supply the muscle. Your doctor was not worried nor should you be

Thank you Nikki. Just google says both sides of the table means soemthing bad… i should trust my doctor. He tested my left arm and hand too because i insisted . he didnt found anything. But why one place of the muscle show this and the other 2 spots nothing . I cant understand. Is it possible to hit this motor fiber. After few seconds fibs disappeared. I am so sorry to bother you all. Just need some explanation.

Your doctor did explain. Your doctor at a minimum had 4 years of medical school and four years of residency. Maybe did a fellowship after. Plus however many years of practice with required continuing education. Google has none of these and in this case is wrong. It isn’t unusual to see an isolated finding like this. Usually they don’t even check other areas of the muscle because it is so unworrying but your doctor went the extra mile to reassure you. Believe them and thank them

Is it worth it to do NFL test ? If its high does this mean its ALS

Nfl is not specific to als. It can be elevated because of a number of neurological disease plus due to trauma especially head trauma, high blood sugar and kidney issues. It is not diagnostic

When I turn my ankle inward and it locks, I have to exert effort to get it back into the correct position.
Is this spasticity

No. Please speak with your doctors if you have further questions about your health.

I will be closing this thread. Please do not start another.
