Listen, I understand that tons of people post here thinking they have ALS. And I know how annoying it must be for those of you who actually have it to read these posts from people who don't have it and are just blowing things out of proportion. But I'd like some input into my situation. I mean no disrespect to anyone here, I'm just looking for help and I figured this was the best place to come.
For the last five days or so, I have been experiencing twitching and jerky movement all over my body. Fingers, hands, arms, toes, feet, legs, and abdomen. However, this twitching and jerky movement only happens when I'm actively moving/using the parts. For example, laying in bed or sitting and not moving at all I'm fine, but when I rotate my wrist it twitches, when I roll up my toes they twitch, why I try to do sit-ups my abdomen twitches, etc. I've also been very fatigued and weak-feeling lately, even if I get enough sleep. I got about 8 hours last night and was still exhausted today.
I work part time but also go to school full time. 9 hours at work three days a week, 7-12 hours at school two days a week.
I'll admit my sleeping patterns and diet aren't the greatest. I only eat about 1000-1200 calories a day and get anywhere from 5-8 hours of sleep, depending on what time I get done with school/work.
I am only 21, about to be 22. I was fine and had none of these problems a week ago. But I read online that ALS symptoms can show up in only a matter of days, out of nowhere. I had some blood work done no more than two months ago for something unrelated and everything came back fine. I also had an EKG done a little over a year ago for a nasal surgery and that came up fine as well.
I was diagnosed with GAD (general anxiety disorder) years ago and have had several episodes of hypochondria in the past, which all turned out to be nothing. So once again my anxiety is acting up about these symptoms, which is why I am here. Do any of my symptoms sound like ALS? I made an appointment with a GP but it's a couple weeks out, and my anxiety is through the roof on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
