5 months of cramping tightness in left calf and once in a while my right. Take aspirin and advil daily which helps. Just wont go away. My elbow was sore on my right arm and now I feel that arm getting tired and feels weaker-discomfort in the part from elbo to wrist. Mom has als gene C9orf72 not wanting to get tested at this time. 48 year old female. Had health anxiety since my mom found out she had the gene 9 months ago.

Are you having true cramps? Like charlie horses that make you want to cry out? Even if you are that is a very non specific symptom
Feeling weak, tired discomfort doesn’t sound very ALS like either. Please go to your doctor and get checked. Maybe have some lab work.
I am sorry about your mom. It is common for relatives to worry about themselves even without the addition of c9. I am sure you know there is a 50% chance you are not a carrier. I hope you also know if you are c9 is not 100% penetrant. Further , penetrance varies widely and can be as low as 30% The experts say look to your family history. The fewer affected relatives the lower the penetrance. The studies you may have seen with full penetrance by 80ish were done soon after discovery and done on high penetrance families like mine. Now they know that there are families where most obligate carriers have lived long healthy lives

Thanks so very much...not its not like Charlie horse cramps...just constant tightness and slight pain constant..not shooting pains.
