Hello. My husband is new to his wheelchair (light electric chair or manual so far) or walks with a cane. Any tips for him being able to carry things while in the chair (around the house or to the car)? Also everything falls out of his pockets while he is in the chair. Any tips for that? Also got him a grabber. What else do we need?

I would advise against keeping items in unzippered pockets whether in a wheelchair or using a cane. It's too easy for things to fall and if he did try to pick them up, he could fall in turn.

Some PALS keep a bag attached to the seat or arm -- they come with a plastic clip that slides under the cushion or velcro that can be reached easily, and same for a cane. In a wheelchair, some carry a bag in their lap.

Some other "what else" possibilities:

I think being able to carry small things like a water bottle or a coffee, and also a cell phone, is really useful. And having them near the handlebar is key. I have a small electric scooter (Invacare Colibrii) that came with a front basket to put things in, but I also attached a cup and phone holder that I got off Amazon. It clamps on to the handlebar and is super helpful. And now I also have a small electric wheelchair (Go Pride) that has a small swing out tray under the seat, but it's awkward to get at. So I will probably get another cup and phone holder and figure out a spot to attach it.
