Hello Everyone!
A little good news for people in Northeast Oklahoma! I am still a young pup when it come motor neuron disease and their types but I am learning fast, thanks mainly to this forum so far. I am a veteran and the my therapist at the VA sent out an all call to all the social workers in the system to find me a local support group. My current diagnosis is motor neuron disease suspected ALS. Anyway enough about me for now. They gave me a phone number to an ALS support group sponsored by the MDA in Tulsa close to my home. I phoned them last Monday to get some basic information on the next meeting and whether or not I needed to register. She sent me an information packet with tons of information and the registration forms. The great news is that I believe March 23, 2016 The MDA opened an ALS clinic in Tulsa. Anyway it opened some time this last week. I have filled out all the paperwork and currently in the process of gathering the last of my lab reports and data from MRI's, EMG, and anything else that they may need. The stickies have been invaluable from this site. A super big THANK YOU for all of them and also to everyone who shares their journeys through these terrible diseases. The disease is bad enough but the unknown is the worst of all. They have a clinic in Oklahoma City as well. NCAA basketball March madness- Boomer Sooner final four! Sorry just slipped out.
