Peg Tube Site issues and swimming

My mother received her peg tube about a week and a half ago. She has some drainage still from underneath her tube. She has no fever and it has no odor, is this normal? Also she was told after 4 weeks she can get in a swimming pool, and we are planning on taking a vacation is there anything that we need to get to put over her site or as long as the tube is clamped is that all that we need to do?

My hubby does pool therapy two times a week...does not need anything covering the site. Good luck...and enjoy your vacation.

If you are in pool water the peg should be fine. If in a lake or ocean I would cover it. I use Nexcare absolute waterproof 2 3/8 x 4 inch premium adhesive pad purchased at Walgreens. They are great!
