I’m experiencing symptoms for 5 months, twitching weakness and fatigue, 2 clean EMG’s but I’m not convinced because I can’t walk or stand for very long, and I have atrophy in my glutes, hands and legs, I can’t believe the neuromuscular specialist can’t diagnose me with anything.

I’ve got to say it again being others don’t. ALS is still considered a rare disease.
Even extremely rare is someone in their 30s being diagnosed with ALS.

You’ve had two clean EMGs… yet you are not convinced. The two or one of the
Neuros are highly educated and highly trained in medicine… you are not.

Apparently you are dealing with Health Anxiety which you can help with soon.

You joined October last year. I’d bet you read numerous Threads since.

I hope your issues are resolved in the near future… 30s is a great time in life
to be alive without worry and burden of Health Anxiety dragging down your
abilities to create a successful future. What I’d give to be in my 30s again.
I had a lot of fun and I made a lot money and it carried into my 40s, 50s
and 60s.

I really hope for you… again, all of things that you are dealing with are
diagnosed and resolved soon.

Did the specialist say that you have clinical atrophy?

No, but my thenar muscles on both hands are shrinking, along with my thigh muscles, my thigh muscles get flaccid than spastic, not to mention extreme fatigue all the time.

I understand that is your perception, but without a clinician's observation to back it up, we can't consider it (nor should you) in describing your health status.

ALS does not typically present as you describe, either, even with the lack of clinical findings and clean EMGs.

Since it appears that you don't have a neuromuscular problem, I would return to your PCP to rule out a systemic disorder.
