My throat issues started roughly 10 months ago (previous threads here and here), it has been slowly migrating from upper throat to lower throat slowly. I have only experienced minor dysphagia, and no persistent dysarthia. The best description i can provide is a section of my throat has constantly been tight and paralyzed, migrating downwards. Other strange things like toothpaste out my nostrils and air getting down in my esophagus have been happening.
Twitching doesn't worry me as much, it has increased but nothing persistent. Just hot spots that last a few days and go away in my legs and arms/hands
My clinicals showed no neurological signs and ncs was normal. I'm scheduled for a follow up with the Neurologist in July.
My legs/wrists/ankles are having the most issues beyond my throat. Everything has been mostly bilateral.
I have sleep apnea, and wear a cpap. It's been effective in reducing my events from 65 per hour to just a few. I invested in a Samsung ring to do sleep tracking and posting results here to see of anyone has any opinions or insights.
Is it highly unlikely my swallowing issues are related to ALS if I have not developed any dysarthia or significant dysphagia in 10 months? My throat muscles are absolutely not working properly, but functionally they're not failing.
If it's not, what the heck could it be?
