Get Real
Add to boredom, (I put this together about a week ago not being
able to decide to post it. Then… I was watching a ball game and
three times the commercials went past the resume of play.)

I watch a lot of TV now. I don’t watch movies that have violence,
which seems to be most of them now. I’ve watched old movies to
a point. Don’t watch much news… it’s depressing. To me.

I watch car TV programs, I do wonder how most of them agreed to
go to commercial break at the same time. Then the tsunami of
commercials, the same commercials over and over. Now the
constant barrage of Medicare Part C commercials. We get maybe
10/12 minutes of program then 4 to 6 minutes of commercials.
I’ve about wore out my remote trying to beat them.

I wonder how these insurance companies can afford the millions
and millions of dollars for their countless commercials. Then the
lawyer commercials to help you with your claim. Gee… maybe that
tells you they try to keep money to pay for their commercials and
you need to get a lawyer to get what you were promised in their
commercials. And the pharma ads… no wonder some are so
expensive. And.. the possible side effects. Yikes!

Then the commercials to cover your car repairs… one that has
a famous sports announcer has the most complaints with the
Better Business Bureau. No repair shop is going to release
your car until the repair bill is paid. It could take hours or a
day as they negotiate the bill. And… you could end up with
a co-pay as my shop (20 years) has told me. That is in the fine
print very few read.

I’ll surf my web sites to see what’s new.

Putting this on Word first one handed broke the boredom for
45 to 60 minutes… rambling and ranting. Don’t know how it
would go over.

I agree with you Al, the commercials are relentless. My fingers are sore from hitting the mute buttons.

The constant interruption for Medicare supplements makes we want to scream. The only saving grace is that enrollment ends on December 7th, so those commercials will be shelved for another year.

The pharmaceutical ads are right up there being relentless. Either they're advertising lawyers that will happily sue on your behalf or drugs that when they list the side effects I scratch my wonder if the side effects are worse than what they're trying to treat.

Car shield ads are the worst. Unfortunately they run all year not giving us a reprieve.

I found that reading or watching Netflix allows me to control the content that I'm exposed to.

I have Prime so I have Prime Video. There are lots of shows and movies with no commercials.
But...in your case can you read the news or an interesting article when the commercial comes on and then watch tv when its over. Mute also helps.
Hope you are doing well CA.
