I am now 4 months with everyday twitching. It started in a finger then quickly moved to my calfs. shortly after it became pretty much body wide. I had an EMG done and everything came back normal. Only one fasciculation was observed during the emg and the nero said it was benign. So with that I let the ALS fears go and went on with my life. The twitching never stopped so I chalked it up to being BFS. Recently I have began having facial twitching daily. This is a new area for me. I also have random cramping.... last few days in my left calf. I don't believe I have any clinical weakness although I sometime convince myself I do. Does this sound remotely like ALS? Should I get another EMG? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No/no.
Go to your PCP and ask for a PT rx, get some massage/hot tub, re-examine your diet, hydration, sleep, stress and exercise.

Best,
Laurie

If twitching and cramping persist without clinical weakness or other issues, they call it BFS. My mom has had BFS for decades and I may well be heading in the same direction - I just twitched over about half my body for the better part of a month and have had episodes for years.

In all likelihood, you need to do exactly as Lori said and no, a normal EMG sounds nothing whatsoever like ALS. I am not a Doctor, but I would personally bet a month's pay that if your twitching and cramping were caused by ALS, your EMG at this point would be floridly abnormal, and weakness(CLINICAL) would be present.
