I woke up this morning, turned on my computer and went to Chase Community Giving to see how many votes the incredible nonprofit charity "ALS Guardian Angels" had received during the night. Sadly, not one more than the day before. There are 232 votes and we only have eight days left. How is it...

I am unfortunate to know three ALS sufferers in my life, the latest my father inlaw. I thought it very odd that his cat died of almost exactly the same symptoms six months before he was diagnosed.
It reminded me that the other two people I know both are cat lovers. Has anybody done a survey on...
Building on Zaphoon's Schnoodle thread, there seem to be a lot of PALS and CALS here who find pets an important part of their lives. I suggest we begin a thread on the subject of "Pets as therapists" and describe our pets and how they enrich our lives with ALS. Maybe a photo gallery of our...
Well I fell yesterday. For quite awhile I have felt like standing and walking is precarious. Uneven ground, tripping over nothing, tripping over rugs and cords (and cats, but who doesn't?), people bumping me, a hyperextending knee, then a buckling knee....it's like running a gauntlet...what is...
Hi!
I am new to the forum. My mother was recently diagnosed with ALS. It started with a drop-foot and has started to progress. She has not yet gotten her blood test results but she did some sort of urine test to test the heavy metals and her lead and mercury were really high (lead 3x normal)...
In the spirit of fun and Halloween, I wanted to share some photos. It seems like a few from the forum are in it. (for you cat lovers out there, I didn't have much luck coming up with pictures. It might have something to do with cats being independent and not wanting to dress for Halloween?)...
I just realized I made the post below to the wrong area. I'm re-posting in the correct area, sorry.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and to the internet in general. My husband was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2007. His only symptom at the time was falling due to a weak left leg. He has since progressed to a walker and he is having other symptoms.
Recently, he is becoming very...
OK, so I'm one year past diagnosed and haven't asked for help outside of our household. My family lives 7 hours away but my husband has three single, healthy, childless sisters living within 10 miles of our home. We've been trying to get our raised ranch home ready to sell and all we asked for...
I'm the care giver of my 56 year old husband who has Bulbar onset ALS, mirroring exactly the way his dad was who died of ALS in 2000. I feel as tho I am in the eye of a terrible storm, whirrling about and not being able to stop = this is happening SO FAST. He was released as reimbursement...
