Raoljost - (A Guiding Light)
Chapter 1
I wasn't able to run fast enough. My legs and arms were going as fast as I could force them to move and they burned with effort. My breathing was labored, but under control. Sweat poured from my brow and burned my eyes.
I could hear the hounds of hell...

This is the last time that I will post to this site. I was a care giver for my wife for 2 years....I was in denial about her ALS and never believed it. She had horrible pain before she passed...so anyone who thinks that ALS isn't painful is wrong. Some people with this horrible disease do have...
Backstory: I am a 20 year old male, with a sudden onset of ALS symptoms, after two years of ALS-unrelated symptoms. I am concerned about juvenile ALS.
In June of 2015, I began feeling tightness in my calf and began tripping on carpets. I began experiencing muscle burning when I exercised, and...
Strangely, I developed low-tension glaucoma in one of my eyes back in 2014. Subsequently, I was diagnosed with ALS on Sept. 1 of this year. Is there some speculation or fact that low tension (low pressure) glaucoma is a early indicator of ALS?
I was wondering if someone knowledgeable would be able to help me with some concerns regarding my fathers condition. He has been tested for over a year now and we still don’t have a final diagnosis but doctor seems to be leaning towards ALS. My father was diagnosed with Ocular melanoma 13 years...

I’ll try to make this pithy, but it’s a long story, if...

after 11 years , now I have slight atrophy on one side of the body. I can walk , run and do daily activities. Till now it has not affected me for any activities. But recently I am noticing...
Hi, Just looking for someone to talk to. I feel so depressed the past few days. I mean I've been sad and have my moments but it just feels like it's taken over my body. I keep picturing Jay when his breathing slowed and then his final breath. I go to work every day and then to go to my...
Hello Everybody,
My dad's disease makes him more and more miserable, and he has less and less patience. Now he is upset that he is supposed to use his BiPap and cough assist. Neither works really well for him.
With the BiPap, he constantly complains that it leeks into his eyes, and he has eye...
My mom has been sleeping most of the day since september 15 after a crisis with secretions and saliva where we used the coughing assist. She was able to stay awake for about the time when my brother came to visit about 10 days ago. :) But every day after that, its harder and harder for her to...
