I saw an old thread that was closed. Any luck in getting it and not through a distributor?

Welcome to the forums. There are at least 3 well-rated lactobacillus rhamnosus products on Amazon. 2 cite GMP facilities, always advised.

Hi, I searched for that too, after I had read a study, that it might slow down the progress. I called the provider in Canada, but since it was just a study, they would not provide it to the public. So I found only that bacillus in Greek Joghurt, but no idea what strain. I fed my husband that through the feeding tube and was glad to have it, because we had problems with delivery of his formula, otherwise he would have had to fast. The nice side effect was a regular bowel movement

Thanks. There are many different strains and I'm specifically looking for HA114 which isn't on Amazon. Know where I can find that one?

I don't understand, I did some research on lactobacillus rhamnosus and found that it improves gut health. There are some things about it that may help my wife like constipation. What I don't get is the HA-114. What is special about that and why is it so hard to find? I did read that probiotics should be avoided by people who have compromised immune systems. Isn't that the case and does it apply to ALS?

It is a patent-pending compound and the patentholder-to-be (Lallemand Health Solutions) doesn't make finished products with it; they sell to others. It is part of the ingredient list for the Natural Factors Ultimate Probiotic 12/12 Formula on Amazon and may be in others.

Note if you use it -- based on available research, you should space it away from B12.

ALS doesn't compromise the immune system, though it does make respiratory viruses, Covid, and the like more dangerous because PALS are generally already or heading toward respiratory compromise.

As with anyone else, some people find various probiotics helpful and others do not, independent of any possible effects on ALS progression.

But what is the HA-114 you can get the lactobacillus rhamnosus on amazon so what does the HA-114 mean and do?
This sounds like something to run by our doctor before considering

That strain has shown some promise in animal studies, Johnny, that's all. Ironically, it has also been studied and has received some regulatory support for claims related to weight loss.

I'm basing it on info here.

My husband can't tolerate riluzole and radicava. He's progressing (bulbar) and I'm just trying to find things that may help.

We contacted that company called Leland for the specific strain. You have to buy 85,000 units. They don't sell small amounts.

Well that publication certainly sounds promising the trick now would be how to get it if you don't want 85,000 units.
I'm not worried about weight loss ... keeping weight on is the priority now.

Again, it's included in marketed products as I noted so you don't have to buy those units. Since we don't know what quantity or concentration would work, or if it will work at all, spending for pure powder seems excessive, though I know some people are.
