I am looking for a website that sells assistive devices for a reasonable price. I have found several like wrights but they are ridiculously expensive.

Try a google search for used/refurbished devices in your area. I know there is a place in metro Atlanta that takes donated equipment and refurbishes it and sells it at reasonable prices. I just can't think of the name of the place right now. If I run across or it or have time to research it this weekend I'll let you know.

Hi everyone,
I have a friend who has ALS and is in a wheelchair, very little use of arms/hands....she loves to read but finds it difficult to turn pages, etc.
Is there anything out there, gadget wise....that can be bought to hold book and help turn pages?
Prayerfully,
Phyllis

Have you checked SammonsPreston.com?
Not sure how much use of arms is needed, but go to that site- then, to aids for daily living- then, to books and page turners.
Maybe you can find something there.

Bucket,

I found the place I was thinking of, but it probably won't be helpful to you. I will post it anyway, as it may help someone in Georgia:

Hi Phyllis. If your friend has a computer she can download books on the internet from places like Amazon and then use the mouse to turn the page. Check with your public library to see if they have a page turner to loan or books on CD or books to download from their web site. You might want to post your question on a seperate thread so that you will get more responses :-)
