Just wondering opinions.
I do have trouble chewing, swallowing, and have a jaw tremor.

I can't opine on these except to suggest that you see a primary care doc who can help you sort out your symptoms.

Best,
Laurie

Ok saw my local dr today, she confirmed tongue wasting and also saw the fasciculations.
I have a neuro appointment on Tuesday.
I have been having symptoms for 4 years and an mri 3 years ago reported slight atrophy of the left side of the tongue, what I see now is lots on left and a small amount on the right,
What else can cause atrophy and fasciculations?
A neuro I saw 3 years ago said he didn’t think it was motor neuron , had mri, muscle biopsy, lip biopsy, lumbar puncture lots of blood tests emgs and nothing could be diagnosed. But since March I have lost the ability to walk fast, thumbs are powerless, feet drag or I even slide when I walk, I take 10 steps then need to rest a little to be able to keep going,
I suppose I only have 4 days till I see neuro again, but at 49 years old and with a 10 year old I need more time.
Just wanting someone to chat to that understands as can’t talk to family yet,

Are you saying all the tests/biopsies to date have been normal?

I have been told I don’t have ms, myositis, Sjogrens, myasthenia Gravis, issacs, brain mri showed slight atrophy of tongue but nothing else noted.
I do have slighty high ESR, CRP, Ana 1: 320 speckled pattern, serum folate has been progressively getting lower during the past 4 years now at 6 normal limit above 9.

I have B12 injections every 3-6 monthly but levels are within normal limits.
I did have c5 c6 injury to my neck 2011 resulting in pins and needles in arms, responded well to physio and steroids.

In 2015 saw a local neuro due to lethargy, weakness, facial droop, presyncope and dysphagia. Results stated electrophysio evidence of a moderate median neuropathy at right wrist. Perineal motor findings are non specific.

I do have severe sleep apnea with an ahi of 90 with out treatment so use a bipap machine every night and some times during the day when I rest if extremely fatigued.

I know no one here can give me any medical advice or opinion, but a little empathy or ideas or info or anything would be nice

we certainly are hoping for the best for you. Have you had recent mris of brain and spine? The one report of tongue that was not uniformly bilateral that we had here and I can remember turned out to be something else that I believe showed on mri ( forget the details). I know your brain mri was since symptoms but that might be something to ask about and your cervical spine could be contributing.

Good luck with the appointment. I think it is already Sunday there? Let us know what happens
