my mum has 1,3,4,
she cannot swallow,difficult breathing.
that is painful.

Pretty much 3,1 2, in that order. Started with voice, progressed to swallowing, then leg and arm weakness. I don't hear myself slurring at all, but others do a little, I don't think its bad, on a scale of 1-10 glasses of wine, I'm probably at a 3 or 4.

(taking a little time out here to ponder what I could sound like with 10 glasses of wine......)

My speech is a little slower, but more in a hesitant manner rather than drawing words out. The advantage of this, is it can be taken as me giving great consideration as to what I want to say, LOL

I have some balance issues, which is kind of an interesting combo with the slurring, should be fun if I get pulled over while driving). My breathing is at 82%, 7 months ago it was 102% so its decreased, but I cannot perceive it.

I've started receiving compliments from strangers on my fashionable canes (this is not a joke) and feel this is a sign l that I don't seem defeated to others. So, even though I cannot walk with a bounce in my step, nor whistle while I walk, I will not be defeated.

Here on the forum, If I could have F**K ALS as my signature instead of what I have, I would!

1,2 and 3 (speech) starting.

my pals has 1,3, 2 and 4.

1,2 thats all so far

My wife, Rhonda has 1,2, & 4. Although it started with the left arm/hand and moved to both legs. Right arm is now getting much worse so maybe it's 1, 2, 4, 1. Although not included in the list, she also has the luck (bad of course) of back and neck being affected.

Did I hear someone call mis-deal?

Mine started with 2. Now I have 1,3,4 in that order. Partial involvement of each.

My husband has 1,2,3 and 4. 1 for 3 years now, misdiagnosed as Parsanoge and 2 for 6-8 months now and 3 and 4 for 3-4 months now. He goes to Emory for a final diagnosis tomorrow. I guess if he has had this for 3 or more years now, he has been more on the slower end of the progression, I think.

I am 1 and 2. I noticed a bit of weakness in my left hand about one year ago. I was finally diagnosed 3 months ago. Hands and legs have become very weak over the last 4 weeks. Still walking but using a walker.

Started in left hand, moved to right, and has progressed to legs/feet for my son, who is 18. He's lost quite a bit of strength, fine motor control in his hands. He's having trouble dressing, many other activities now. His walk has changed to more of a sideways shuffle almost. Going up stairs, getting in/out of low cars are becoming more difficult for him.

The neuros keep saying that he's so young, his progression will be slow and others have siad he will plateau but this seems fast to me.

Does that mean I'm doing it right? :)
