I was finally trying to be good to my chair by cleaning it for the first time with some Mr. Clean and some paper towels today.

I can't believe it, but when I had it looking brand new again and tried to turn it on, NOTHING.

It wouldn't beep, power on or do anything at all.

I thought for sure a fuse popped, so I had some friends come over to help me lift the seat off to get to the 150 amp fuse, but it's absolutely fine.

Unfortunately, I'm really weak and had a lot of trouble picking my side up and off properly and a somehow punched a tiny hole on my beautiful red cover in the process.

I'm completely overwhelmed with self-hate for damaging it on top of doing something to make it completely unresponsive.

I'm such an idiot. 😞

Can someone please tell me what is the likely problem?

I guess I sprayed it somewhere with too much Mr. Clean.

I would use a multimeter to check for continuity at various cable connections. Start at the batteries, work your way to the power module, and then to joystick module.

Repair the shroud with fiberglass and resin.

I did and it checked out fine. A tech has ordered me a new controller. Expensive, but on him of he's wrong.

If someone is interested in buying my chair, it's got less than 20 miles on it and was sold to me as new with every possible option in January of 2024. I'm in serious trouble and need to sell it super fast. It will fully checked out by the dealer before their tech is done with it. The only blemish is a tiny spot on the red cowl that doesn't go all the way thru.

The X8 is a pretty specialized wheelchair suitable for a pretty limited number of people. You will need to find someone willing to buy a non working, specialized wheelchair with a broken shroud.

10 years ago I bought a non working x4 (predecessor to the x8). It too had a broken shroud. I paid $500 for it.

I have been looking to buy an x8 as a project chair, but would only buy one local to me (Colorado).

My point is that I don't think your broken x8 is worth very much. Good luck selling it.
