I read this “A common abnormal result in ALS patients is spontaneous electrical activity when the muscle is at rest”

When I did The EMG Doctor kept asking me to relax my muscle and I told him my muscle are relaxed

Is anything bad about being asked this despite my muscle being relaxed?

Also EMG Doc don’t know that I come for als concern and he told me in the end that my emg is normal

No. A not fully relaxed muscle does not have the same appearance as fibs and psws at all. There is no way the examiner would confuse them. Sometimes you think you are relaxed but there is some residual tension. A normal emg should be embraced and celebrated

Thanks
When the Doc asked me to move my leg does that show sign for als? Or als only show when you relaxed?

here's my EMG result

By using the needles, the electrical activity of the muscle shows (differently) both at rest and in movement.
