We don't have prescription Ins either. Both of us are on ssi & medicare.I can't afford it luckly I worked in the medical field & my firends at the doc office where I worked give me my Crestor & I buy Prilosec otc instead of my reg med that I used .when I can not get this from my friends any longer I'm gonna try PPA as advertised by Montel Williams on TV or I'll contact the maker of the product. Once when Larry was sleeping all the time his neuro gave me a prescription for something to help him not sleep so much. When I went to the pharmacy I asked how much before filling it The cost was 287.00 so I told the doc he was going to have to sleep which thank God that passed .When we had big hosp. bills after medicare paid it's portion I asked for assistance from the hosp & got everything written off for 6mos. Now I have to apply again as his testing costs big bucks as you all know. They told me that assistance is made available if you qualify. Maybe this will help with some of you.It doesn't hurt to ask .we cannot afford additional ins the cost is just to much.God Bless

My husband left his job in March after being diagnosed. His FMLA ran out 7/1 and I picked him up on my insurance policy at work for BCBS. We work for the same company so it was not difficult. He applied for SSDI in March and it was approved a few weeks later as I contacted Sen Alexander's office for assistance. He will receive both SSDI and Medicare beginning 7/1 and his first check will be sent 8/13 or 8/14.

Don't give up! The problem we face is we have no life insurance. It was too expensive to carry a $25k policy.

Take care,

Our transition back in AUG/07 was like that, but now that I have left my job....its MEDICARE, and BCBS Advantage, and COBRA, (which I can't afford)....I have a long list to attack in the morning so I can figure out how to take care of my family...

Thank God, Bri purchased a good life insurance policy years ago....that is one less thing to worry about...
