I have tried several different blenders and processors to get meat consistency right for my Dad. I'm now looking at a Vitamix and wondering if anyone here has it and what model that works of chicken, beef, etc.

We aren't to a feeding tube yet but I know we will be there at some point. So spending more on a blender that will work and last a while is understandable.

If you go with Vitamix, they used to have a discount for PALS but don't see it on a quick scan. You could ask.

But there are other brands that are less expensive with which many have had success. Don't forget to mix with the right amount of liquid to get your best consistency. This page has some good info:

now is probably a great time to buy. Target and walmart are having sales to compete with amazon prime days that are about to start. I have a middle of the road vitamix that seems pretty powerful but I have never tried to blend meat

I have a Vitamix 5200. I had high expectations for it and it exceeded all my expectations.

It has blended everything I put into it. I am confident it would blend meat thoroughly and well, though I don't have personal experience using it for that.

I like that it has simple controls. I don't need a lot of options. I just need it to blend things thoroughly and the controls allow me to easily do that.

It is easy to clean and easy to use.

I noticed that it is on sale at amazon for what I think is a very good price.

I can highly recommend this blender.

We've had a vitamix (an older model V2300) for years. Daily use. I have used it to puree meat for a variety or reasons- including quite a few times to puree fish and chicken (with bone in, even) for pets. They are astoundingly dependable, powerful blenders. As Steve says, the controls are simple- a dial for speed and 2 switches, one for quick pulse and other "on".
