I had my most recent Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) and spirometry yesterday. The results are a bit confusing to me and I would appreciate any insights you have to help me understand the implications of the results.
The spirometry showed an FVC of 21%. This is a slight decline from 6 months ago...
Can someone explain this?
FEV/FVC ratio:
Expected 93% Found: 76%
That means for my build, condition, etc., that they expected to see a ratio of 93% but where I really am is 76%, correct?
Hi everyone,
My dad went to his 6 MONTH ALS clinic follow up apt last week, and my mom and him were given horrible news. He was unable to even register on the breathing test so they weren't able to see what his FVC percentage was. He is unable to speak now only my mom can understand him, arms...

Part of me wants to forgo the procedure, enter hospice ' and be done with...

My mother has ALS...

Hi friends!
My mom was diagnosed in Feb/17 and seems to have bulbar onset although the doctors haven't said. Her first symptom was hand weakness and now she has slurred speech, decreased FVC and just recently issues with swallowing. We live in Canada and are getting the generic version of...
